Valera Health Expands Access to Evidence-Based Mental Health Care, Including Suicide Prevention Services, with Acquisition of Vita Health

NEW YORK CITY – June 4, 2025 – Valera Health, a leading virtual mental health platform, today announced the acquisition of Vita Health, a pioneer in the delivery of clinically validated virtual suicide risk reduction services. The acquisition strategically broadens Valera’s capacity to deliver high-quality, comprehensive mental health services, maintaining its commitment to both those with serious mental illness and those particularly vulnerable to suicide.

Valera Health has consistently delivered access to individuals covered by insurance across Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare health plans. By acquiring Vita Health, Valera strengthens itself as the leading provider of high-quality, virtual mental healthcare, catering to a wide range of patients, including those with complex and challenging needs. This expansion further bolsters Valera Health’s value-based care partnerships.

Through its unique service model and network of full-time dedicated clinicians, Valera Health serves individuals ages 12 and up with a wide range of diagnoses, including higher acuity conditions that many other virtual outpatient platforms do not treat. Additionally, Vita’s expertise in suicide risk reduction services will enhance Valera’s suite of evidence-based programs and make them available to more patients and health plan members.

“As we approach our ten-year anniversary, this acquisition represents a natural evolution of our mission,” said Valera Health CEO Craig Albright. “Vita’s critical work in suicide prevention complements our comprehensive approach to high-quality behavioral health, and together our exceptional providers can make an even greater impact.”

“On behalf of Vita’s lead investor group that includes Flare Capital Partners and CVS Health Ventures, Leslie Frecon, Managing Partner of LFE Capital stated, “We’re excited to be partnering with Valera to expand Vita’s innovative work in suicide prevention and youth mental health, having seen firsthand the value of these important services for patients.”

Vita Health was founded in 2021 with a mission to address suicide prevention through proven treatment approaches. The company’s virtual Suicide Risk Reduction Program is backed by scientific research and has shown significant results in reducing suicide risk.

Through this acquisition, Vita will integrate with Valera’s provider network and clinical service model to continue serving its patients, payer partners, and provider partners. The combined organization will operate under Valera Health, bringing together a network of more than 250 predominantly full-time clinicians who are highly trained in evidence-based treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Valera and Vita are backed by investors including Heritage Group, Atlantic Vantage Point, Windham Capital Partners, Alsora Capital, LFE Capital, and Flare Capital Partners as well as leading healthcare strategic firms including CVS Health Ventures, The Cigna Group Ventures, and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.
