Meet Lauren

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a mental health professional to work collaboratively with others to navigate stressors, symptoms of mental health conditions, and life transitions.

My Beliefs About Mental Wellness

I believe most people experience mental health needs at some point. We all come from different walks of life and in some cultures getting help is frowned upon. My goal is to support and advocate for mental wellbeing. I like to help people learn more about what mental health means to them.

My Professional Background

I’m a graduate of Fordham University and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State. I’m certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and I use a trauma-informed, solution-focused approach.  With over a decade of experience working with people with all types of disabilities and chronic health conditions, I am passionate about developing inclusive therapeutic practice and a strong alliance in therapy.

I Work With Patients To: – Collaboratively create a caring and empowering environment.

  • – Focus on patient strengths, while identifying meaningful and attainable treatment goals.
  • – Better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions.
  • – Recognize and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.
  • – Build healthy coping skills and relaxation strategies.
  • – Collaborate to adjust and adapt to life transitions.
